Credit Checks

http://www.usatoday.com/money/perfi/credit/2009-02-12-creditchecks_N.htm

How can middle class single parent mothers rebuild their careers and financial outlook if she can't get a job due to bad credit? Wouldn't getting a job in the government the best decision during this terrible recession? Well one cannot get a government job without passing credit checks! At what point does taking ownership of making bad financial decisions violate worker's civil rights? EEOC should stand up for middle class Americans who want to work.

Please contact whitehouse.gov on this.

Middle Class Moms Cannot Afford Summer Fun

Childhood obesity is an epidemic in America today. It is a critical factor is our health care crisis. Yet P.E. (physical education) is not offered in public schools daily. Often it is offered once a week. That puts the time consuming and expensive burden to single parent mothers. There is the YMCA, local county recreation centers, Summer Camps, dance classes, etc. However, not without significant cost. The wealthy can write a check for dance classes and expensive Summer Camps. The lower class can obtain financial assistance through their local government. Middle Class mothers such as myself cannot write a check for extracurricular activities or qualify for financial assistance. Instead, my children and I suffer from the "Middle Class Crunch." The government should invest in keeping children active during the Summer and throughout the year. The country will benefit from lower health care costs in the long run.

The Connection between Bad Credit, Unemployment and Foreclosure

The Connection between Bad Credit and Foreclosure

Over three million Americans have lost their home in 2008 alone. That number has increased significantly already in the first quarter of 2009. What does foreclosure do to one’s credit report? The answer is: destroy it for approximately seven years. A lot of Americans lost their job and as a result lost their home. The result is terrible credit. This limits one’s ability to get a job. It’s a reality our government needs to address if it’s attempting to get Americans back to work.

Government jobs, contracting jobs and a large amount of private sector jobs in the DC metropolitan area require credit checks.

Where are millions of Americans expected to live with no job and bad credit? Even the underemployed can’t find a rental opportunity due to bad credit.

Americans watch as “bad assets” are removed from irresponsible/criminal banks so they can survive yet absolutely nothing is done to remove bad credit from single parent mothers such as myself to help my family survive.

Please advise.

Sincerely,

Hardworking, college educated, tax paying American

The Middle Class Trap

As the Middle Class continues to lose jobs, the benefits are not set up to help us through this difficult time. Many hard working Americans are taking contracting/temp jobs in the interim to get by. However, the salary from my temp/contracting job is still too much to get help by Family Services to reduce daycare costs, obtain Food Stamps to eat or qualify for affordable housing of any kind.

The Lower Class qualify for Pre-K, Food Stamps, Daycare vouchers, Section 8 Housing, etc. The Lower Class even has more options in obtaining higher education. The lower you make, the more grants you qualify for! The Upper Class is rich and can afford all of the above paying right out of pocket.

That leaves the Middle Class TRAPPED not being able to afford daycare costs so we can goto work, food to eat or a home rented or purchased. Higher education to increase skills is more difficult as well. What is the task force going to do to improve the "Middle Class TRAP?"

The Middle Class is being punished for working hard and paying taxes! Something neither the Upper or Lower class seem to do!

Hybrid Cars

Hybrid cars for the Middle Class The hybrid cars help America to be less dependent on oil and will help the Middle Class reduce the astronomical gas prices. However, hybrid cars cost more. If America is working on its citizens being less dependent on oil, the hybrid cars need to become more affordable, at least initially to create an incentive for switching from the traditional automobile. Thanks for this interactive opportunity to share my thoughts and suggestions. The Middle Class Taskforce is critical. As VP, Biden stated during the election, the Middle Class drives the American economy. Thanks.

Child Care - The Other Mortgage Payment

I believe the government needs to address the burden of daycare costs for middle class single Parent Moms. Upper Class can afford nannies. Lower class can use state/government paid vouchers to pay for daycare. Middle Class families have nothing. This is also a hidden factor in the housing crisis.
